Dominic Barton is an internationally experienced business leader with deep expertise in corporate strategy, governance, and global markets. He spent over three decades at McKinsey & Company, including nine years as Global Managing Partner (2009–2018).
He served as Canada’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2019 to 2021 and has held prominent leadership roles in business and public policy. He currently serves as Chair of Rio Tinto and Chair of LeapFrog Investments, and previously served as Chair of Teck Resources, in addition to serving on international boards and advisory bodies.
Mr. Barton is a founder of FCLTGlobal (Focusing Capital on the Long Term) and has co-authored four books, including Talent Wins (2018). He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of British Columbia and an MPhil in Economics from Brasenose College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholarship recipient. He was appointed to the Board of Dangote Industries Limited as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
